Q. How long does it take to drive to the Orlando area theme parks and the beach?
A. Our home is only an 8 minute drive to Walt Disney World, a 20 minute drive to Universal Orlando and a 15 minute drive to SeaWorld. You are less than an hour from Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic Ocean and about an hour and a half drive to Clearwater Beach on the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Q. What is the theme parks shuttle's schedule and what is the process for reserving a seat?
A. While the shuttle schedule is subject to change, a typical schedule is as follows:
Departure from Encore: Walt Disney World Resort: 8:45 a.m. (Service to Transportation & Ticket Center and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) 11:05 a.m. (Service to Transportation & Ticket Center, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios) 12:15 p.m. (Service to Transportation & Ticket Center, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
The shuttle is a full sized bus and reservations for a seat on the bus are made at the clubhouse concierge, where you can also obtain a current schedule of departure and park pick up times.
Q. Are all the club amenities an easy walk from the house?
A. Yes - the club amenities are only a three minute walk from the house.
Q. I noticed there is beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts and a soccer field at the clubhouse. Is there sports equipment at the clubhouse?
A. Yes - you can sign out sports equipment at the clubhouse.
Q. Is there parking at the villa and is it free?
A. We have parking for 2 vehicle at our vacation home. If you are planning to have more than 2 cars, there is overflow parking lot just two blocks away from our house beside the clubhouse. And yes, parking is free! Please note that due to fire restrictions, parking on the street is not allowed.
Q. Is it possible to negotiate late/early check in and check out if necessary?
A. The availability of early check in or check out depends on both the schedule of guests departing and arriving, as well as our cleaning staff. While we cannot guarantee anything, if there isn't a scheduling problem we may be able to have a few hours leeway.
Q. When we are at the Villa, if there are any problems getting into the Villa or using the facilities etc, who do we contact?
A. Our property manager has a person onsite at the resort during the day and is available 24 hours for emergencies. You can also contact the resort front desk or concierge with any questions. There is also an information binder in the Villa to assist as well.
Q. How many people can stay at your vacation home?
A. Our villa is a 6 bedroom home and we limit our rentals to 12 people (including children). This is generally perfect for 2 families, plus grandparents, to travel together.
Q. Is there a telephone at the villa?
A. We do not have a telephone available at our vacation home. As such, we encourage at least one person in your vacation group to have a cell phone available. You can also use the free wifi to access apps such as Skype or Facetime.
Q. What is Property Protection Insurance?
A. We require all bookings to purchase Property Protection Insurance. This provides coverage for minor accidental damage. Please be advised that significant damage, intentional damage and gross negligence will result in additional charges.
Q. Is your property non smoking and pet free?
A. Yes - we know how important it is for people to arrive at a home that is clean and protected from pet allergies. As such, for the enjoyment of our family and our guests, we have a strict no smoking and no pet policy.
Q. How regularly is the garbage picked up?
A. Trash is collected on a daily basis, so please put trash bags in the bins as soon as they are full. Our home has trash bins located on the side of the house where you should place bagged and tied trash (max. 30 lbs/14kg per bag) and/or flattened cardboard boxes. Do not wheel bins to the curb; the valet trash service will pick up from the side of the house. All trash must be secured inside tied bags. Loose items are not allowed in the bins and will result in a “no pickup” from the home.
