I returned to my Orlando/Kissimmee Florida vacation home at the Encore Resort at Reunion to see if there was any damage from Hurricane Irma. I can report that, thankfully, all is well! Even the palm trees look exactly as we left them! While I was there I took the opportunity to check out the progress of the new Walmart being built at the North end of N. Old Lake Wilson Road at the intersection of US 192. This location will be the closest Walmart to Walt Disney World. I used the old "clip board in hand" trick and was able to walk past the construction workers and right up to the front and side doors to snap a few interior photos. As you can see, the inside is looking good, but they are nowhere near stocking the shelves yet. The exterior is definitely looking closer to finished, with the asphalt paving has been competed and the landscaping almost finished. It also looks like there will be a very convenient and, likely, affordable place for us to gas up our Orlando rental cars before we return them to either Orlando International or Sanford International Airport.

Also, while driving down Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, I also noticed the Walmart hiring centre and walked in to get an idea of when they expect the store to be opening. I was advised that they hope to be open early December. I guess I know where everybody will be doing their last minute Christmas shopping this year!
